March 15th, year 1999 – I remember that very date because it was the first time for me to have a very huge party. Of course, at that day I turned seven years old. According to the elders, seventh birthdays should be the best right? Well anyway, the moment I woke up the whole family were busy doing arrangements. The food, the games, the music, the icecream, where’s the cake? My mom said it was going to be bought later so we could reserve the sweetness later. As for me, I was just playing outside (knowing the kid that I was) with my cousins and young uncles.

Everything was perfect, a dream come true. I always wanted a celebration where I would feel like a princess. I was dreamy and I wondered all the time they were preparing how’d it all turn out. Out of boredom, me and my uncle rode the sidecar instead (the bike with a passenger seat). It was all fun and everything went smooth. Yet naughty me played, I hanged at the back of the sidebar. By mistake, my knees went down while sidecar was on its fast move. So what happened? Scars, I was crying. I cried very hard because I was hurt. Yet I tried to cheer up. My uncle took me home and once I got home mom was very mad. Luckily, they managed to heal my wounds quick with band aids and stuff. My mom told me then to stay in one place after the incident. I was still hurting since that really would hurt. Anyway, after awhile my grandma came with my cake from Goldilocks! It wasn’t that much big but of course I was very excited as a birthday girl. I wanted to see it so bad. Yet out of my excitement, I bumped my grandma while she was holding the cake. Poor me, I got scars then my cake got ruined.

It was the end of the world for the seven-year-old me. But my mom tried to cheer me up. She said she’d do something about it, and everything was okay. So I listened to her, and since I didn’t want my day to be ruined. What I did was just enjoy. My mom even prepared me a gown to wear for this special day. I forgot about the “unfortunate events” as we may call it. However, every birthday needs a cake so we can’t take out the cake part in my seventh birthday.

I was surprised to see my birthday cake! It was half ruined when I saw it. Yet my mom put little marshmallows on the parts that were deformed. I was touched, and I was so happy while everyone was singing. It made me feel so much joy because even if at the start of that day, things went wrong something came up that made it the best. After the singing, of course we ate the cake! And I felt that it was even better and sweeter.

This birthday was unforgettable, the scar remained but it’s the thought my mom and friends gave me that also marked. Thank you Goldilocks for making this day special! You’re the 1 Goldilocks because you saved my day from getting ruined. So I still had a happy birthday.
